Enjoying Playa del Carmen Travel

One of the most exciting and satisfying places to visit in all of Mexico is Playa del Carmen. Located on the Yucatan Peninsula, in a region labeled the Mayan Riviera, the city is a remarkable achievement of planning, organization and natural beauty. The city leaders have never allowed the traditional high-rise hotel structures that ruin many popular vacation destinations. Instead, all visitors of the city get to enjoy the unbroken views of the crystal clear waters and the white glistening sands above the low rooftops of the many beautiful homes and hotels.

It is also important to note that Playa del Carmen is not far from such countries as Belize, and just like its neighbor, it also has protected lands and nature preserves that are home to some amazing creatures. There are also a host of valuable and fascinating historic sites in the Playa region as well. Most of these locations can be easily enjoyed during one of the many Playa del Carmen tours that depart from the city almost every day. In fact, there are special, low-cost public vans that take visitors directly to such historic and popular sights as Tulum, just south of the city.

There are many things to do in Playa del Carmen, in addition to visiting some wonderful parks and historic locations, and these include enjoying the beach and all of the amazing activities that take place there. In fact, the citys beaches are among the major Playa del Carmen attractions. This is due to their remarkable cleanliness, the fact that the entire stretch of sparkling white sand that runs the length of the city is open to the public, and that it is a family friendly location. Not all beaches of the Yucatan Peninsula prohibit nudity, but those at Playa will be asked to attire themselves or leave the beach.

What is interesting about the city is the fact that many Mexican families and individuals plan a vacation to Playa del Carmen on a regular basis. In fact Europeans, Mexicans and Americans are the three main visitors to the area, and some come to enjoy the remarkable shopping, while others the great dining. They can all do this in the utmost security and safety because the main tourist area, known primarily as 5th Avenue, is automobile free. After 7 a.m. each day there are no vehicles allowed on the streets of this region and visitors can wander freely without any concerns.
