On another note, the ADO bus is inexpensive from Playa del Carmen to Tulum. From there, you can hire a taxi for the remaining 15-minute trip.

  • The lagoon is open from 9am to 4pm. It’s best to arrive before 11 in the morning so that you can enjoy its serenity with few other visitors
  • Only cash is accepted for all fees including the entrance fee, snacks and beverages. Note that if you prefer to bring your own food and drinks, there is a charge of $50 MXN 
  • No smoking or alcoholic beverages are permitted in the park  
  • There are bathrooms along with a small hut selling coconuts for sipping and snacks. Also, there is a shaded patio, perfect for people watching and enjoying the serene vista
  • No pets are allowed
  • Be advised that only biodegradable sunblock and repellent can be used so as to protect the ecosystem 
  • Bring a blow-up floatie for relaxing under the vast blue sky. But, you should know that there is a charge of $150 Mxn for bringing your own paddle board or kayak
